Glass Houses, by Rachel Caine, gets a 4.5.
This book starts off with the main character, Claire Danvers, getting violently bullied in college, and she's only sixteen. She wants to escape, so she decides to look for roommates. Finally Claire finds what she's looking for, the Glass House. The owner, Michael Glass, doesn't want Claire to stay, since she's so young. But he reluctantly agrees since she's in danger. Then Eve, the goth, tells her a story about vampires in the town. It's only a story, right? Vampires don't exist. But when she has her first freaky encounter with Brandon, a vampire, she believes. The town is run by vampires.
I liked this book mainly because of the relationships. That's what I think this book is about, relationships. I didn't like that the vampires were bad, which was kind of a turn off. I like good vampires. I think if this book had good vampires, it would've gotten a 5.0. But also I like that it's original, where every one is rooting for the vampires, this book wasn't. That's what gave it an extra .5.
I recommend this book to fans of vampire academy(though not because of the vampires, but because of the relationship focus and kick-ass) and whoever is tired of all the good vamps lately.
